Replacement of lubricant oil in machine motor vehicle represent the proper matter done by all motor vehicle owner. This matter because lubricant oil own the vital function for vehicle namely to lessen the friction that happened between component residing in machine so that can prevent the damage of at motor vehicle machine. In this time replacement of lubricant oil in motor vehicle of pursuant to time depth usage of lubricant oil or distance which have been gone through by motor vehicle. The mentioned felt less be accurate because oftentimes machine run redundantly and indicator inexistence which can know the condition from the lubricant oil. At this final duty is writer try to design and realize the system which can know the storey, level of characterization of lubricant oil use the ultrasonic wave. System made consisted of by the microcontroller AT89C51 as controller overall of system, Ultrasonic PING as censor, PC as processor of data and serial port as interface between appliance by PC. Examination done to know the storey level of characterization lubricant oil, namely with testing censor used and also test it with a few circumstance as according to real condition that happened around lubricant oil. Result of examination and analyse the according there are some factor which can influence the condition from lubricant oil among other things temperature and lubricant oil usage.
