The report is entitled ��Analyzing the Usage of Abbreviations in Letter Post Manual��, which discusses the abbreviations existing in Letter Post Manual. This is done to know the abbreviations and the loanwords that are in Letter Post Manual. This report makes to explain the use of abbreviations, the functions of abbreviations and the usage of loanwords in the Letter Post Manual. The theory about the abbreviations and loanwords used to analyze the data taken from in Letter Post Manual used theory by Ingo Plag in his book, Word-Formation in English and B.T. Atkins & Michael Rundell, The Oxford Guide Practical Lexicography. The method in this report is descriptive analytic. This method used to describe the data and then analyzes with descriptive analytic. The data used are taken from text documents belonging to PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) where the writer carries out the job training.Based on the results of this report, it can be concluded that the use of abbreviations is to make easy to prounounce and easy to remember the abbreviation itself, the findings include alphabetism, acronym, coined and clipping and the loanwords is derived from foreign language and it absorbed into English.
