Until now there is no agreement on the origin of the different types of malignant lymphomas. It is therefore not surprising that there are many types of classifications.This study is an attempt to determine the origin of some of the neoplastic cells, using immuno-histochemistry (lysozyme, S100, kappa, lambda and 84/23) and Giemsa staining technics.Of the seventeen cases of spindle cell type of neoplasms, eight were reticulosarcomas (five dendritic reticulosarcomas and three interdigitating reticulosarcomas) as evidenced by their positive reactions with 84/23 and S-100, while seven were malignant lymphomas of the centroblastic/centrocytic type as evidenced by its positive kappa or lambda reactions.
