Abstract

Painkiller officinale Volatile nil theoretical cart he developed for the treatment of human elephantiasis in man. Before that idea can be realized some pharmacodynamic studies on smooth muscle organs and its teratogenic effect have to be done. Pharmacodynamic, study, was performed in isolated trachea, atria, aorta and Uterus. Studv of teratogenic effact was done in female pregnan rat, and the treatment were perfumed by giving Zingiber officinale volatile oil orally, once a day in 10. consecutive days, starting from the 7th to 17th day of pregnancy. From all of these findings if can he concluded that Zingiber officinale volatile oil is save to be used as antifilariasis agent.
