Abstract

The Kustom Art is a new culture that has existed since 1960's. Kustom Art is a painting art that deals with motor vehicles using a special brush. This United States�� art is entered into Indonesia in conjunction with Kustom Kulture, a culture that was born in 1950'an in the United States, precisely in California. Kustom Kulture grew rapidly after the end of World War II. The California youth, especially the youngster who has an automotive hobby, started this move marked by the emergence of Buick and Ford cars that were modified in such a way that it was far from the original form of the factory. The movement of Kustom Art in Indonesia, especially in the city of Bandung is one of the most rapid among other big cities. In Bandung Kustom Art began to be introduced through artists who are also as perpetrators of Custom Kulture, they are builders, modifiers, and the enthusiasts that is the motor and modification car with Kustom Kulture��s style. Based on research that took samples of the work of Custom Art from 2006-2016, on the development of artists Kustom Art in the city of Bandung began to focus on exploring specifically on content that has a characteristic, especially taking the closest reference such as cultural-themed visuals. And began to include elements of local culture although there is little local content that plays an important role in a work of Custom Art
