Abstract

The problem faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia vary. Being able to accentuate the uniquenss of products is one of the major problem faced by small and medium enterprises in order to attract as many customers as possible and gain a maximum profit. Thus, being creative is one of the key factor in order to survive in a competitive business atmosphere. The object of this research is the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in knitting industries located in Bandung City, West Java, known as Kampoeng Rajoet Binong Jati. The member of this ��kampoeng�� (village) are the craftsmen incorporated into Sentra Rajut Binong Jati (the Center of Knitting Industry Binong Jati) which consist of hundreds of Small and Medium Enterpreneurs with its unique knitting products. This research aims to excavate the uniqueness of the product as the part of creative industry in West Java in order to increase the competitive strength of the craftsmen as the entrepreneurs of the Small and Medium Enterprises in responding the dynamic and competitive business atmosphere.
