Tourism actor is one main tourism sustainability factor. It is not easy to provode hjospotality based on the concept of Japanese culture. Thus, this study aims examining the social factors influencing the interaction patterns between the tourism actors and Japanese tourists, especially in the context of formal situations. The research is conducted in Bandung regency as one destionation most visited by the Japanese tourists. The data are collected using observation, listening, writing, and in-depth interview supported with recording technique. The data are in the form inf dialogues or verbal speeches between the tourism actors and Japanese tourists. This research employs data source and method triangulation. The research dara are then analyzed using domain, taxonomic, componential, and cultural thematic analysis. The result shows that the social factors influencing the interaction patterns of tourism actors with Japanese tourists are greatly determined by the relationship between participans, relationship level with hearer, situation, locations, speaker to the hearer and conversation topics. The result of this research is ezpected to become a reference for the Indonesian tourism guides Association in Bali, tourism travel agencies, and hotels to provde training programs both for the tourism guides and staffs to learn further relates to the social factors based on the Japanese Culture in tourism domain to improve their services.
