Abstract

Operating system do abstraction to computer resource with purpose to ease tasking management for computer resource by operating system. But this abstraction cause application can’t work with optimum performance because application can’t decided how computer resource should be manage as application needed. Writer try to slove abstraction problem using exokernel design. To apply teory from exokernel design into a kernel prototype. But this prototype has a few limit such as prototype can’t be compared with full working operating system such MS-DOS. Purpose this skipsi writing is to build a kernel prototype based on exokernel, with hope application that work above kernel can work at it’s optimum level. Writer gather data with studying teory that have connection with operating system and kernel from book’s or article’s. And process model that writer use is dead prototyping, and use of object oriented as research method. Result from this research is a exokernel prototype that can be use as development base exokernel prototype. The minus from this research is prototype have not yet all function in exokernel design. While the plus is prototype can fullfill all limitation that discribe in this skripsi.
