Abstract

Processed Foods industry is one of the strategic industries in Indonesia economy. But in fact, only a Small part of processed food industries has the potentials and advantages. It shows the unequallevel of entrepreneurs ability to be successful and to keep their business. However, when the demand increases it will be unfulfilled because they have low ability levels in produce both the quantity and quality of products which appropriate with market requirement and consumers desires. If the entrepreneurs want become succeed to face the global era competition, they should have a creative and an innovative of entrepreneurship modernity spirit . Meanwhile, The aim of this study as follows: determining the profile of the small entrepreneurs who strive in processed foods in Bandung , Exploring the attitudes of employers modernity , examining the competitive advantage in the low cost and differentiation strategy of entrepreneurs view, as well as analyzing the attitudes of the competitive advantage modernity of small food businesses in Bandung . The methods of analysis used in the study are descriptive analysis and structural equation model analysis. Based on the research that has been done shows the following data ; There are many kinds and variations of food products of small businesses in Bandung that have the prospect to be successed , entrepreneurship modernity of the entrepreneurs who run the small businesses of food in Bandung have average of entrepreneurship modernity skills . This condition illustrates that the entrepreneurs in the small business do not have a high modernity in entrepreneurship and do not have accordance with expectations . the entrepreneur��s competitive advantage of small businesses food in Bandung is in the medium category . This condition also illustrates that entrepreneurs in the small business do not have a competitive advantage in entrepreneurship is high and do not accordance with expectations . So that, the modernity with a competitive advantage has a strong significant correlation . Its means that the more an entrepreneur has to manage its modernity, the more he has the competitive advantage.
