Abstract

I wrote the report based on the job training at RRI Bandung located in Diponegoro Street No. 61 Bandung. The job training was started from July 14th 2008 to August 14th 2008. In the institution I was placed in news and broadcasting divisions. The job training report discusses my activities, those are: (1) news script writing, (2) broadcasting, (3) reporting, (4) translating the press review, and (5) news reading. However, in this report I only focus on the translation processes. The method used in the report was descriptive, while the techniques of the data collecting have been done through library research and observation. After doing my job training, I conclude that there are two main factors that determine the success of delivering news. First, the activities in news script writing will become the starting point to catch the listeners¢ attention. Thus, they should be done carefully and properly. One of the activities is translating. It was begun with analysis step, and then continued with understanding, terminology, and rewriting step. If all steps are followed properly, the information that was conveyed through the radio will be comprehended by the listeners. The last, the process of news broadcasting should be implemented attractively and courteously, and a broadcaster has to use the perfect intonation to bring the right nuance.
