Abstract

motivation is very influential for a learner to master a foreign language. In order for foreign language learners to have high learning motivation, interesting learning needs to be done. Monotonous learning causes the learner to get bored and can cause learning motibation to go down. This study aims to dertermine the increased motivation of X IPS 3 students of SMAN 1 Temanggung in learning Japanese. The object of study was 32 students of class X IPS 3. The media used in learning was an online-based assessment media, Kahoot!. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to students. By comparing the students impressions while performing conventional tests with Kahoot!-based test, result can be obtained as many as 94% of students prefer to use Kahoot!than conventional test. 75% of students feel happy when using Kahoot!, and 87% of students increase their learning motivation. From these result, it can be concluded that Kahoot! Can increase the learning motivation of X IPS 3 students of SMA 1 Temanggung in learning Japanese.
