Abstract
The Candu-pressured heavy water (Candu-PHW) type of nuclear electric gerenating station has been developed jointly by atomic energy of Canada limited and Ontario Hydro. This paper discusses the cost of producing electricity from Candu, presents actual cost experience of Candu and coal in Ontario, presents projected Candu and coal costs in Ontario and compares Candu and light water reactor cost estimates in Ontario.
