Full text not available from this repository.Abstract
The art of healing could be traced back to the pre-human era, particularly when Pithecanthropus erectus emerged 2 million years BP. The tradition to use all parts of the tree: leave, flower, fruit, stem and root are quite reasonable, since it is easily available all over the year. But the development was too slow This is due to the methods used, where myths mixed with trial and error were the only mean to explain the secret of diseases and its treatment. Mien the scientific method becoming the only mean to let new medicine to be used in medical world, substantial changes take place exponentially. But aside of the rapid progress of new medical invention and innovation traditional medicine prevails. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, Greco-Arab medicine to say a few, are still popular in various parts of the world. And to our surprise, what the modern medicine fails to cure a particular disease, the traditional one, to some extent opens hope to many. When modern health facilities are admitted to cover not more than 20% of the whole population, superimposed by the on going economic crisis, it is wise to recommend that alternative medicine should be embraced and not totally rejected. To avoid malpractice, it is suggested to the government to issue relevant regulation and imposed continuous monitoring and evaluation
