Abstract

Nowadays, there are plenty of Indonesian children who are suffering undernutrition. This condition could be overcome by giving milk or diary-product due to its high nutrient content. The objective of this study is to know milk consumption habit and the advantage of milk-tofu consumed by children.By using experimental design, forty preschool children were provided 25 gram of fried milk-tofu every 2 days for a period of 60 days. The estimation of nutritional status of children was performed by comparing body weight to height before, on going and after consumption of milk-tofu. The significancy of the result is analysed by t-test.The results show that about 201 of children did not drink milk and about 15% of them were malnourished. The frequencies of malnourishment decreased from 15 % to 5 % after consumption of milk-tofu. To improve nutritional status of the children, milk-tofu is strongly recommended.
