Indonesia Has achieved remarkable economic success during the new Order. In the last three decades, it has accomplished a growth of 7% and increase of per capita income of 4.5% annualy. This success cannot be isolated from the rapid industrialization process: while in the 1970s manufacturing represented 13% of GDP, its share increased to 23% in 80s. Total industrial output has also icreased 8-fold since 1970s. surely, this has brought great prosperity to the people of Indonesia-however, along with it, industrization also brought serious adverse to the environment. Given this rapid industrialization,environmental and helath related to industrial pollution is expected to rise significantly. (KOLEKSI PERPUSTAKAAN PELANGI)
