In Japan, the rare disease or known by Nan-Byo was created in 1972 when relatively rare health issues appeared in Japan. As a rare disesase which only has a few sufferers, there still a lot of rare disesase that hasn��t been identified or its cure hasn��t been found. Because of that, this research will be focused on how the social representation od rare disease and the patient which reflected in Japanese popular fiction. This research use the social representation theory by Serge Moscovici. The research objects will be the television drama series: Ichi Rittoru no Namida, Boku no Ita Jikan, and Taiyou no Uta which selected by purposeful sampling. The result of the research show that from the anchoring and objectification processes, the rare disesase are represented as incurable disease and rarely occurred, it can infect anyone and at any age. Then the patient is represented as a person who has only a limited lifetime, for the rest of his life must undergo a series of treatments and experience pain, and patient feel socially isolated
