Abstract
The village is a community unit that has territorial boundaries and manages its own government affairs. Bandung Regency has nearly 274 villages with different geographic and demographic conditions. The purpose of this research is to explore data and information that can be used as an argumentative and scientific basis regarding the characteristics of modeling / profiling of village election areas based on demographic and geographic potential in Bandung Regency. The method used in this activity is a descriptive model of data collection techniques in this study through literature and field studies. The field study itself was carried out through non-participant observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and documentation. This paper concludes that there are three village classifications, namely swadaya villages which are still traditional in nature, customs are still very strong, social relations are still very, very close, self-employed villages which are also called transitional villages are villages that are one level more advanced than swadaya villages, where adat village community is experiencing a change in the mindset of the community and increasing jobs in the village so that livelihoods have begun to develop no longer relying on farming, cultivation or forest products, and self-sufficient villages where the community has been able to utilize and develop natural resources and their potential in accordance with development activities regional, this has shown the existence of village mapping in Bandung Regency.
