Abstract

The demand of Information and Communication of today world citizen has triggered ICT as rapidly growing industries in the world. The ICT critical role is significant in improving people's welfare in the sense of providing services for competitiveness and high level of efficiency in all aspects of life, particularly in relation to time and distance. Hence by its nature ICT industry have contributed in very significant in productivity and economic growth. The original correlation of ICT in economic growth model will be proposed. The statistical data of economic and ICT will be analyzed to show the correlation. Indonesia will be the study case to the proposed original model. Indonesia ICT stats growth rapidly in these recent years, this is along with the continuing economic growth that put Indonesia into number 15 in G20 country. The scintillating growth of ICT users and services industry in Indonesia is has significant contribution in GDP growth, is not followed by the same respectable growth in ICT software or hardware Industry growth, hence result lesser productivity and higher cost on economic growth. To conclude, improvement suggestion with the Impact on GDP and other economic parameters will be proposed.
