Abstract
The article explains differences in writing the citation and reference from five manual books.Conclusion shows that there are three systems in writing citation and references: the Name-Year system, the Numeric system, and Notes.The differences in writing a citation of manual books are in using abbreviation, symbol, term, and punctuation, while the differences in writing the references are in presenting of author's name, sequence and completeness of bibliographic data, special identification on part of bibliographic data, using abbreviation and punctuation.
